Bicycle Art and Salvage – Paul Elsea

Come on down to 405 Avon Street. Free, all ages, community art workshops where local artists help facilitate creative building using bike chains, chainrings, inner tubes, and other treasures recycled at Charlottesville Community Bikes. Bicycles wear out – frames crack, chains stretch, chain rings get worn, tubes get holes, wheels warp. Why not use the parts to make sculptures, garden trellises, candelabras, metal mobiles, inner tube wallets, and jewelry? Take your pieces with you for display in your neighborhood, home, or yard. Inspired bicycle decorating and neighborhood rides showing off our creations may ensue.

Budget – $1600 (Time, material, outreach, and food)
