The Cville Roots Festival is an annual community celebration highlighting the diverstiy and talents of the people residing on the southside of downtown Charlottesville: Belmont/Carlton, Fifeville, and Ridge St. Neighborhoods. The festival will take place on one illustrious evening in a larger venue featuring ten performances by both professional and amateur musicians, dancers, singers, poets, comedians, and actors, for a family audience open to all. A dynamic master of ceremonies will introduce the acts, followed by a lively dance band as a finale. Besides performing, community members of all ages can take part before the festival by designing and making stage scenery; creating, honing, and rehearsing new acts; publicizing via media and “walking the talk” in the neighborhood, plus much more.
